Heidi McKinley,
IFS Therapist
I specialize in attachment patterns and relational childhood trauma — helping people get curious about the parts of themselves that carry old pain, and find deep, transformative change.
Using Internal Family Systems, EMDR, and AEDP, I guide clients in building a genuine relationship with the parts of themselves that carry pain, fear, and self-doubt — so they can reconnect with their most grounded, compassionate Self.
More About Heidi →How I work
Healing happens through relationship.
Many of the patterns that bring people to therapy are not problems to eliminate — they are parts of you that developed for a reason.
I work with your parts rather than against them. Rather than trying to push difficult feelings or behaviors away, I get curious about them — where they came from, what they're protecting, what they actually need.
My approach is experiential and rooted in IFS, attachment, and emotion-focused therapy. This means I go beyond insight and help you connect with your emotions in real time — where change actually happens.
Together, we build a more grounded, compassionate relationship with yourself — so you can feel more regulated, connected, and fully you.

What experiential therapy can do for you.
Deep healing
Go beneath the surface of symptoms and patterns to understand the parts that carry them — and use EMDR to reprocess the memories and experiences that keep those parts stuck. This isn't just insight. It's change you can feel.
Mind-body connection
Trauma lives in the body as much as the mind. We work with what you feel somatically — learning to recognize activation, process it at the nervous system level, and cultivate a felt sense of safety and peace that doesn't depend on everything going right.
Reconnect with Self
At the center of this work is Self — your most grounded, wise, compassionate way of being. IFS helps you access it. EMDR helps clear what's in the way. Together they create conditions for a life that actually reflects who you are.
