Ongoing · Weekly

Individual Therapy (IFS)

$165 / 55-min session

Weekly or Bi-weekly Therapy - Currently Full

Regular sessions for people who want to go beneath the surface — understanding the parts that carry their patterns rather than just managing them. Relational, experiential, and rooted in IFS.

I work with adults navigating C-PTSD, attachment wounds, religious trauma, anxiety, and the exhaustion of never feeling like enough. Sessions are 55 minutes via telehealth in Wisconsin and Louisiana.

Single Session or Short Series

IFS Depth Sessions

$250 / 90-min session

A short-term series of 90-minute sessions

A space to slow down, turn inward, and truly meet your parts. These sessions are for mapping your inner world — getting to know the parts that protect you, understanding the patterns they create, and beginning to sense what they organize around.

Deep processing and connection to exiled parts may come up, however, we move at the pace of your system and our main aim is to help all parts feel truly met, even the protectors. A single session can be enough — many people choose to return for a short series, often around three sessions, when they want to get a fuller picture of their system. There's no set package; we find the right pace together.

Great those curious about IFS (therapists or clients) who are wanting a deeper look at and experience of their inner world of parts.

For Therapists

Therapist Referrals: EMDR/IFS Supplemental Series

$165 intake · $165 / 55-min session

A focused, supplemental track of IFS and EMDR work for clients who are already in therapy with you and could use dedicated support for trauma reprocessing alongside the work you're already doing together.

Typically runs 6–12 sessions or more for complex systems. It depends entirely on what the client needs — we check in on progress and bench marks throughout. Sessions are scheduled closely enough together (usually weekly) to maintain momentum between them. With client consent I'm happy to stay in coordination with you throughout.

Requires existing therapeutic support. Free consult call for therapist or client for booking.

Common Questions

FAQ

Private Pay

Do you accept insurance?

I'm a private-pay practice and am not paneled with any insurance companies. If you have out-of-network benefits, you may be able to submit for partial reimbursement using a superbill — I'm happy to provide one. I'd recommend calling your insurance company before we start to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits.

Why not insurance?

Working outside of insurance means I'm not required to give you a diagnosis or limit the number of sessions you can have. Clinical decisions stay entirely between you and me — no records submitted to a third party, no constraint on the pace or depth of the work. For the kind of slow, genuine parts work we do together, that freedom matters.

What if cost is a barrier?

A limited sliding scale is available for ongoing individual therapy on a case-by-case basis. Reach out at contact@heidimckinley.com and we can talk about it, or join the sliding-scale waitlist directly. I never want cost to be the only thing standing between someone and this work.

Good Faith Estimate

Under the No Surprises Act (effective January 1, 2022), you have the right to receive a written estimate of expected costs before starting services. I'll provide one before we begin. It's not a contract and it doesn't predict how long therapy will last — that depends on your needs and what we decide together. You may discontinue treatment at any time.

If you receive a bill that is $400 or more above your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute it. For more information visit cms.gov/nosurprises.

Logistics

What happens on a consult call?

It's a 15–30 minute conversation — not an intake. We talk about what's bringing you to therapy, what you're hoping for, and whether my approach feels like a fit. You get to ask questions too. No paperwork, no commitment. If it feels right, we schedule from there.

Telehealth — where do sessions happen?

All sessions are telehealth, conducted via a HIPAA-compliant video platform through Sessions Health. You can join from wherever you have a private, comfortable space and a reliable internet connection. I'm licensed in Wisconsin and Louisiana — you'll need to be physically located in one of those states during our sessions.

Do I need a referral for intensive or depth work?
Do I need a referral for intensive or depth work?

No. Depth Sessions are open to anyone — no existing therapist required. The EMDR/IFS Supplemental Series is different: it's for clients who are already working with another therapist and want focused EMDR/IFS reprocessing for specific traumas alongside that ongoing work, so it does require a referral from that therapist.

If you're already an ongoing client of mine, we'll simply use EMDR/IFS as part of our regular work together — no separate referral needed. If you've been referred by another therapist, this work is meant to support the relationship you already have with them — not to replace it.

What's the difference between Depth Sessions and the Supplemental Series?

Depth Sessions are for anyone — a space to map your inner world, with no existing therapist required. The EMDR/IFS Supplemental Series is specifically for clients already in therapy elsewhere, referred by their therapist for dedicated EMDR/IFS reprocessing support that runs alongside their ongoing work, typically 6–12 sessions depending on need.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on what brought you in. For Depth Sessions, a single session can be illuminating — Or you can do a short series, often around three, to fully get to know the system and its patterns. For ongoing therapy, there's no set end date; we keep checking in together as we go. There's no fixed package either way — we find the right pace for you. For trauma processing with EMDR/IFS 6-12 sessions is recommended, with more for complex or multiple incident traumas.Check out This Blog Post for more information on EMDR processing and how long it might take.
