What is this

A different kind of opening.

Ketamine creates a temporary window where the brain is more receptive to new learning and the nervous system can approach traumatic material with less reactivity. EMDR works inside that window.

Ketamine Assisted EMDR Therapy™️ combines a low-dose ketamine experience with an EMDR reprocessing session. The ketamine isn't the therapy — it's a preparation that supports the EMDR work by temporarily quieting the defensive responses that can make trauma hard to access or process.

This is not a psychedelic experience. The dose is low enough to keep you alert and engaged. You remain conscious and in control throughout — present enough to actively participate in the EMDR work. All sessions are via telehealth from your own home.

Currently available in Wisconsin. *Louisiana available with your own prescribing provider.

Good fit

This may be for you if...

  • You've done significant trauma therapy and feel stuck at a certain level
  • EMDR has been helpful but you hit flooding or freeze states that interrupt processing
  • You have complex or developmental trauma that's been hard to access
  • You're working with a therapist who supports this step
  • You're medically cleared and not currently in crisis
  • You're curious and open — not expecting a cure

Not a fit

This isn't right if...

  • You're in active crisis or psychiatric instability
  • You have a history of psychosis or certain contraindicated conditions
  • You don't have existing therapeutic support
  • You're looking for a standalone psychedelic experience
  • You're in early recovery from substance use disorders
  • You haven't done any prior trauma work

Medical screening is required. Not everyone who applies will be cleared to proceed — that's by design.

The process

Four phases.

Each step is its own decision. You can pause or stop at any point — and I'll tell you honestly if I don't think it's the right fit.

01

Consult Call

Free · 15 min. We talk about your history and whether this protocol makes sense for where you are. No commitment.

02

Intake & Medical Screening

55-min session with Heidi to identify the target and assess readiness, then a psychiatric evaluation to determine medical appropriateness. Fees paid directly to each provider.

03

Preparation

1–2 sessions building the internal resources your system needs — Self-energy, grounding, orienting to the protocol. We don't rush this phase.

04

KAP-EMDR + Integration

2-hour reprocessing sessions via telehealth from your home, followed by integration sessions within 72 hours of completed processing. Most clients do 6–12 sessions. No predetermined number.

The psychiatrist prescribes for the planned course and does one dosing check-in after your first session to calibrate going forward. You are not committing to a package — each session is its own decision.

Before you reach out

A few things to know.

  • The consult call is genuinely free — not a sales call
  • Existing therapeutic support is required — this supplements, not replaces, ongoing therapy
  • Complex trauma may involve more sessions than the typical estimate
  • Louisiana clients: reach out if you have your own prescribing provider
